Terms of Use

These terms apply when you visit Tennessee Court Docket, use a linked search tool, or read its material. Use of the site means you accept the conditions below. If you do not agree, stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. Tennessee Court Docket is privately owned and has no affiliation with a government office or court. Neither this site nor its advertising partners provide a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant-screening, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site's purpose is to point readers toward Tennessee court dockets and record resources. It is not a private investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

Tennessee Court Docket is a private reference site, independent of any court or government office. It does not keep official dockets and cannot retrieve a case file, alter a hearing date, or file a document for a visitor.

The site points readers to public resources and offices that hold Tennessee records. PCH searches appellate case histories only; local trial clerks keep the docket and file for their courts across the state's 95 counties. Links to a third-party search provider may also appear as an optional research tool.

2. Informational Use Only

Material about Tennessee dockets and court records is general information, not the official register, a court order, or legal advice. Rule 34 of the Tennessee Supreme Court governs access to court records. The Tennessee Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. ยงยง10-7-503 et seq., provides a process for requests to government custodians; neither rule makes this private site the holder of a trial file. Confirm important details with the clerk or court responsible for the case.

3. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against the site's pages
  • Use information from this site to threaten, stalk, or harass another person
  • Try to enter the site's systems or access areas without permission
  • Use this site's material for a decision regulated by the FCRA
  • Break a federal, Tennessee, or local law while using the site
  • Interfere with service or prevent other visitors from using it

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Tennessee Court Docket is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the FCRA and does not prepare credit, background, or other consumer reports. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offer a service to screen employment or rental applicants, set insurance rates, or assess creditworthiness. You must not use the site's information or a linked tool to:

  • Assess creditworthiness or determine an insurance premium
  • Decide whether to hire or terminate a person
  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government program
  • Make any other decision governed by the FCRA

A service used for an FCRA-regulated purpose must meet that law's requirements.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing published here is legal advice. Tennessee docket information cannot explain how a particular charge, order, filing deadline, or case applies to you. Consult a licensed Tennessee attorney for advice about your situation.

6. Accuracy Is Not Guaranteed

The site and its contents are provided "as is." No promise is made that:

  • A partner's search result will be complete or correct
  • Every site detail will remain accurate and current
  • Pages will always load without interruption
  • The site will be free of every error or security issue

Tennessee court dockets change as filings are entered and settings are moved; cases may also be sealed, dismissed, or amended. Updates on this site can lag or have gaps. Its content is not an official statement by a clerk or court. Confirm a docket entry or hearing date with the office that holds the case before relying on it.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to Tennessee clerk pages, PCH, other court resources, legal aid, or an outside search provider. Those services are operated separately from this site. Tennessee Court Docket does not control their content, data practices, fees, or availability, so review their terms before using them.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code on this site belong to Tennessee Court Docket or its content partners. Copying, distributing, changing, or building on that material requires written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the broadest extent permitted by law, Tennessee Court Docket is not liable for damages arising from site use, including reliance on material here or on a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to protect the site from claims, proceedings, or demands arising from your use of it or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Tennessee law governs these terms. A legal dispute related to site use must be brought in a court located in Tennessee.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision takes effect when posted on this page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you look up a case or docket for me?

No. This private reference site does not access or retrieve a trial court's docket. PCH is an appellate search; for a trial case, use a case search where available or use Counties to find the local clerk.

Can you change or confirm my court date?

No. The court controls settings. Check the local court calendar and confirm a date with the clerk or coordinator responsible for that case.

Is a docket entry on a linked tool official?

Not always. A linked index may be incomplete or out of date. The trial clerk's register is the official county case record; PCH is the official search for appellate case history.
